Accomodation tips for Philippines

We started to look for first accommodation after million hour flight, totally tired, when boat from Cebu island spit us out on island Bohol city Tagbilaran :-D. We didn’t know where to go, there were girl alone and she looked like, that she knows where to go, so we went with her with tricycle to the end of another island called Panglao 😀 huge surprise. That alone girl find out accommodation really easily in one crazy hostel, cheap but totally open with no walls check it out here and it has great reviews and breakfast they said 🙂 but they had place just for one person. And I don’t want to lie, that was to much for me 😀 I am to much princess for that 🙂

Some days it was worse to find some were good. But mostly we used Booking or Philippino Agoda to find something. You need both because sometimes when you look for accommodation on last minute like we always did, booking is sometimes fully booked.

After that we were just walking around and trying to find something we found out other one and it was cheap too, but it had walls and bathroom and amazing name Calypso resort, close to famous Alona beach (spoiler: till now I do not understand why is that beach famous). This resort is owned by nice family, price is reasonable, it was clean and they cook well. Best thing is that you have motorbike included in price of room. (other spoiler:  about Maltese Calypso island which I visited too you can read more here 🙂 thats why, that name made me happy.)Chumz

Another island which we visited was Camiguin and there we had fine accommodation which was on great place, because just around the corner were ships which are taking you to White island. and for every other trips it was really great and quiet spot. So if you want to be close to White island than Camiguin Chumz Travelodge will be great and cheap place for you.

Than we flied to Cebu city and there we took bus to Moalboal, to see waterfalls and go for canyoning. there we stayed in hotel Eve’s kiosk hotel. This hotel has many plus, because, they have rooms from really cheeeeeap ones to normal ones, so it is just up to you and what you want. We had one of the cheapest and it was nothing special, but for one night it was ok, because this hotel is on great place and they have nice dive center, dives for good prices. Hotel is by the sea, close to very tiny beach (that one made me laugh because its sooo tiny) but it’s on nice main road, with nice shops and bars.

Than we traveled by bus near to Oslob for whale shark and we were in awesome homestay. That home was owned by friendly American soldier and Philippino women and American style was breathing to us from everywhere. I forget the name, but just for sure go to Tan-awan city and not to Oslob, because that one is too far from whale shark watching.Xylla

Than we traveled to island Siquijor and there we had two accommodations.  One was classic resort, which wasn’t bad, by the beach for good price Coral Cay resort, but in sea there were jellyfish and sand flies, so we change accommodation to Xylla guesthouse and that was amazing for great price. You have water included in price of accommodation, and its on good place to travel around and you must try their kitchen, great price and vegetable in coconut milk was my best food in Phili.Xylla 2

On island Negros we stayed in city Dumaguete in hotel Vintage Inn, I didn’ find any page for booking, but if you ask around or trycycles will know for sure. Cheap price, for small room, but in city it was ok. For not much money you can stay longer. We stayed till 6PM and than we left our backpacks on the reception, so we can go shopping. 🙂

Our last island was Palawan, where we traveled directly to El Nido where we stayed in two places, one was nice homestay, but kind a expensive but it was included breakfast. But sorry I dont remember the name, but it is not important because it was far away from El Nido in Corong Corong.

So directly in El Nido we stayed in IBR inn, which is not on Booking or Agoda, and it’s stay behind the supermarket IBR and restaurant with same name and its for good price on main road. Again if you say to tricycle rider they will know. My friends were staying in Chislyk Cottages directly on the beach. IBR was for 800pesos per 2person/night and Chislyk Cottages were around 1300 pesos per cottage.

That was everything were we stayed on our trip trough islands in Philippines, something was better something was worse but Xylla stay I can really recommend and if you don’t have plans, you can use this, we survived 😀
